OK 16) Turns AP OFF - (OK or not?) a) Level turns OK b) Climbing turns.OK c) Descending turns. OK *** EMERGENCY SITUATIONS 17) Take-off with some engines out of service: I shot down engine 1 durind a 10° flap Take off at 130 knots, the plane seems very slow to arrive to VR (TO run became 2500 m) after this the plane climb easyly, I had to take care to let him speed up before climb out at a remarkable 160 KIAS /1000 fpm ! Quite easy to control with rudder on live engine side, even if the AP is not good to keep heading ! Manual landing is been carried out with 30° flap and 75% fuel (max landing where docs reports Vref=141 Knots with such flap position); the engine seems not enough powerful to keep a full flap position, than I decided to land with 30°. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION D: NOTES/COMMENTS: 1) Docs are very good, with VR/Vref for all wheights and Flap positions ! There is also a Vref for a no flap landing, in case of flaps malfunction! I carried it out (at Cape canaveral Shuttle Landing facility!), and Vref of 210 Kts (for a 50% fuel, I tested) seems good. 2) The stall speed seems high, Ade shows 138 ?! 3) The plane is quite good, seems a good climber, but be careful because it is a brick to accelerate !! 4) I suggest to use Eric Ernst MD83 panel, that is my favourite panel of all.
